BROODMARES:

1. Register broodmares with MDAR using the appropriate registration form for either beforeor after Dec 15   They can be found on: https://www.mass.gov/info-details/thoroughbred-breeding-program
2. Mares entering Massachusetts before Dec15 – DO NOT have to breed back to a Massachusetts Stallion.
3. Mares entering after Dec 15 –MUST breed back to a registered Massachusetts Stallion in order for the current foal to be a Mass Bred.
4. We prefer that you send a copy of ALL docs to the MTBA first before sending any to MDAR so we can verify all required docs are complete

• MDAR Broodmare Registration form required
• Coggins report required – 1 year
• Health Certificate required – 30 days
• Record of Vaccinations
• Copy of Jockey Club registration
• Proof of pregnancy 2 weeks before arrival or 1 week after arrival
• Please make sure to properly scan and that all documents are clearly legible
